Long before the dawn of the faith traditions we know today, humans sought their spiritual sustenance in the natural world. In this Spiritual World of Nature program, Philip Chard, a thought leader in the field of eco-psychology, draws on both ancient wisdom and contemporary psychological research to illustrate how nature interaction overcomes emotional distress, heals traumatic wounds, promotes self-understanding, nurtures mindfulness, and furthers spiritual growth.
Philip Chard is a practicing psychotherapist who, for over 34 years, wrote an award-winning weekly column in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel titled “Out of My Mind,” now published in the Shepherd Express. He is also the author of several books, including Nature’s Ways: Experiencing the Sacred in the Natural World.
