Getting Ready for Winter
November 3–December 17 | Tuesday & Thursday mornings
Nature Mornings is a new series hosted by Schlitz Audubon Nature Preschool, designed for children ages 4-6. We will meet Tuesday and Thursday mornings for 2 1/2 hours for six weeks.
The program will make use of the Center’s outstanding nature trails as well as our new Nuthatch outdoor classroom. Its purpose is to provide children with positive, authentic, and safe experiences in nature, while also giving them opportunities to socialize and make new friends. During our spring session, we will learn about songbirds and ephemeral ponds, identify spring wildflowers, and look for fossils on the edge of Lake Michigan.
This program will take place entirely outdoors except in the case of hazardous weather. Face masks will be required for quiet, group activities, and whenever we enter the building but are not required during active outdoor play. We do not practice physical distancing with our students but do provide plenty of opportunities to spread out on the trails. Waterproof gear, including rain pants and rain boots, is essential.
Enrollment details will be sent via e-mail prior to the first day.
Members: $400 | Nonmembers: $450
