This seasonal art and nature program will focus on waves this spring. We will visit Lake Michigan to learn about the science of wave formation and look for waves in action. Then we will learn about Japanese artist, Katsushika Hokusai, and his artwork “The Great Wave Off Kanagawa.” Using this artwork and the waves of Lake Michigan as our inspiration, we will spend time creating our own wave inspired artwork.
Each participant will make their own art piece. This program is designed for families with children 7 and older and an adult must accompany children.
This program will take place entirely outdoors. We will practice social distancing when we are able to, but because of the nature of small-group programming, it will not always be possible. For the health and safety of all, participants must wear a mask when you are within six feet of others. Please do not attend if you are sick or believe you have been exposed to the virus.
