Nature Inspired Art: Plants
Saturday, September 11, 2021 | 9:00 am - 11:30 am
$20.00 – $30.00This seasonal art and nature program will focus on botany, the study of plants. Hike with Education Specialist Shelly Rollins to see how plants live, protect themselves, and reproduce. We will look at the work of Anna Atkins, a botanist and photographer, who is considered to be the first person to publish a book illustrated with photographic images and is possibly the first woman to take a photograph. Using her cyanotype photographs, also known as sun prints, as our inspiration, we will spend time creating our own cyanotype artwork.
Each participant will make their own art piece. This program is designed for families with children 7 and older and an adult must accompany children.
This program will take place both indoors and outdoors. Please read our current mask policy before participation.
Members: $20 per person | Non-members: $30 per person
