Mushroom Bucket Workshop

Sunday, September 22, 2024 | 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

$50.00 – $65.00

,

Mushrooms are mysterious and important organisms, contributing to the survival of humans and the planet’s ecology. Join Naturalist Melanie Ziolecki and Registrar John Kavula for a presentation about the life cycle of mushrooms. Discuss their benefits to the ecology, then take a hike to identify our wild mushrooms near the trails.

After our hike, join special guest Justin Starke from Starke Shrooms for a hands-on experience using these important lifeforms. Learn how to grow your own mushrooms out of a bucket, and then take your mushrooms home! This sustainable practice will give you a deeper insight into how mushrooms grow, and in just a couple of weeks, you will have grown your own mushrooms to eat.

Members: $50 | Non-members: $65
