Saturday, August 31, 2024 | 9:30 am - 11:00 am
$17.00 – $23.00Citizen Science, Families, Guided Hikes
As the colder weather rolls in, the monarch butterflies start flying south towards warmer weather. Join Naturalist Melanie Ziolecki to learn their life cycle and how we monitor the monarch butterflies as they journey to Mexico. We will visit some of our hot spots and possibly catch monarch butterflies to put a tag on their wing. At the end, we will discuss ways we can participate in monarch conservation that helps them start their long flight.
This program is designed for children 5 and older; children must be accompanied by an adult. This program takes place entirely outdoors. In the case of inclement weather, the program will be rescheduled to Sunday, September 1 at the same time.
Members: $17 per adult/child pair | Non-members: $23 per adult/child pair
