Literary Hike: Braiding Sweetgrass

Saturday, September 17, 2022 | 9:00 am - 10:30 am

$15.00 – $20.00

,

This guided literary hike will follow the pages of Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer. As a botanist, Robin Wall Kimmerer has been trained to ask questions of nature with the tools of science. As a member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, she embraces the notion that plants and animals are our oldest teachers. In Braiding Sweetgrass, Kimmerer brings these two lenses of knowledge together

Participants will listen to passages from the book while experiencing the natural phenomenon being described as they explore Schlitz Audubon through the words of Kimmerer. Copies of the book are available in our Nature Store to purchase but are not required.

This program will take place entirely outdoors. Please read our current mask policy before participation.

Members: $15 | Non-members: $20
