Tom Finley, Director of Education, and Michelle Allison will guide us on a winter hike through Lake Park on Milwaukee’s lakeshore. We will explore the historical significance of some of the park’s landmarks and learn more about the park’s architect, Frederick Law Olmstead. As we hike through picturesque ravines, we will explore trees in their winter state and look for animal tracks and signs. A walk to the Lake Michigan shoreline may provide views of winter waterfowl and other birds.
The field trip begins and ends at Lake Park. In order to maintain social distancing, you will need to provide your own transportation to and from Lake Park. There are no restroom facilities available at the park. Further details and directions will be emailed to registered participants prior to the trip.
This program will take place entirely outdoors. We will practice social distancing when we are able to, but because of the nature of small-group programming, it will not always be possible. For the health and safety of all, participants must wear a mask when you are within six feet of others. Please do not attend if you are sick or believe you have been exposed to the virus.
