Tour Horicon Wildlife Refuge, the premier wetland in the Midwest, with Senior Ecologist, Don Quintenz, and Adult Program Coordinator Michelle Allison. Over 260 species of birds and other diverse wildlife call Horicon home. Discover this Wetland of International Importance by car and on foot. Witness Horicon’s renowned spring bird migration, the beauty of male breeding plumages, and the exotic courtship performances they exhibit. We will have the opportunity to observe the adaptations and behaviors of the birds which depend on this important habitat for their survival.
The field trip begins and ends at Horicon Marsh. You will provide your own transportation to and from the Marsh and to the various birding locations during the trip. Please bring your own lunch/snacks. Further details will be emailed to registered participants prior to the trip.
This program will take place entirely outdoors. We will practice social distancing when we are able to, but because of the nature of small-group programming, it will not always be possible. For the health and safety of all, participants must wear a mask when you are within six feet of others. Please do not attend if you are sick or believe you have been exposed to the virus.
