Guided Hawk Watch
Saturday, September 26, 2020 | 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
$35 – $50Rain/wind date: Sunday, September 27
Located on the shore of Lake Michigan, Forest Beach Migratory Preserve offers prospective hawk watchers a fantastic opportunity to spot raptors overhead. Senior Ecologist, Don Quintenz, and Raptor Educator, Ian Dorney, will assist participants in the identification of overhead migrating raptors.
In order to maintain social distancing, you will need to provide your own transportation to and from Forest Beach Migratory Preserve. Due to the nature of hawk watching, patience, binoculars, and a light jacket are necessary. Further details and directions will be emailed to registered participants the week prior to the trip.
We will practice social distancing, and the entire watch will occur outside. For the health and safety of all, participants must wear a mask when you are within six feet of others. Please do not attend if you are sick or believe you have been exposed to the virus. See our latest COVID-19 updates here.
Members: $35 | Non-members: $50
