$25.00 – $30.00Adults, Citizen Science, Field Trips
Join Naturalist Aubrey Fulsaas in discovering the freshwater mussels found within the Milwaukee River. We will start at the Center to learn about the ecology and identification of mussel species found within Wisconsin rivers and how to monitor their populations. We will drive to Badger Meter River Park and canoe or kayak to Schlitz Audubon’s Cleaver Property along the Milwaukee River. We will conduct a survey within the river through the Wisconsin Mussel Monitoring Program. After our survey, we will participate in an Adopt-A-River clean-up to create a healthier habitat for wildlife.
Waders and equipment will be provided. Participants must bring their own kayaks or canoes. Further details will be emailed to registered participants prior to the trip.
This program will take place entirely outdoors. Please read our current mask policy before participation.
