Forest Fridays: Autumn Adventures

Forest Fridays is an 8-week, Friday morning series hosted by the Nature Preschool. This program makes use of the Center’s outstanding nature trails, as well as the Preschool’s newest outdoor classroom: The Secret Forest. In this series, Preschool teachers focus on nature experiences that are age-appropriate and include plenty of time for play and social interaction. Forest Fridays is the perfect option for families with children ages 4-6 who would like their children to share in the Nature Preschool experience, but prefer a short-term commitment! Also a nice complement to a traditional 4K afternoon program.

In our Autumn Adventures series, we’ll explore our Lake Michigan shoreline, study the ecosystem of a pond, observe monarch butterflies, and learn why autumn leaves change color. Participants will also learn about migration and hibernation, observe squirrels and chipmunks gathering food, and experience the change in light and temperature as the days grow shorter. They’ll even meet a bird from our Raptor Program!

A completed student profile, which includes a health history and emergency care plan, is required for each participant prior to registration. Also, please read our current mask policy prior to registration.
