Fireflies: Nature’s Fireworks

Whether you call them lightning bugs or fireflies, these bioluminescent beetles light up our summer night. Join Naturalist Melanie Ziolecki to figure out why they flash and how they glow before you take a journey to their favorite spots that light up the night. You will learn how to identify Wisconsin’s two common species and have a chance to see them up close. At the end, we will enjoy s’mores by a fire before you and the fireflies head to bed.   

This program is designed for children aged 5 and older; children must be accompanied by an adult. This program will take place entirely outdoors. In the case of inclement weather, the program will be rescheduled to Thursday, July 25 at the same time.
