Did you know Wisconsin is home to over 50 species of native freshwater mussels? Learn about freshwater mussels – the important but mysterious shelled creatures of our rivers and lakes. Join Naturalist Aubrey Fulsaas in a field trip to Garrison’s Glen, a Mequon Park that borders the Milwaukee River. After learning about the history and ecology of our native mussels, families will get to wade in the river and search for both living mussels and shell relics.
This program is designed for children aged 10 and older. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Waders and life jackets will be provided. Participants will receive an email closer to the date with more information.
This program will take place entirely outdoors. Please read our current mask policy before participation.
Members: $15 per person | Non-members: $20 per person
