Discover the world of macro photography and see what other people never get to experience. This workshop will cover the basics of macro equipment options, exposure issues, composition, and off camera flash. We will look at examples of different macro subject areas, and after the classroom portion will go outside and shoot, weather permitting, or shoot in the classroom in the event of bad weather.

This workshop will be helpful for all levels of photographers. Some technical info will be more appropriate for DSLR and Mirrorless photographers. Cell phone photographers will benefit from composition and other tips to help them shoot better images.

Instructor Kevin Hanley is a Wisconsin Master Naturalist Instructor and nature photographer who has taught workshops at the Milwaukee Zoo, Mitchell Park Domes, Olbrich Gardens, and Schlitz Audubon. Kevin does stock photography and has sold images in Wisconsin and worldwide. He has an extensive background in reptiles and insects and has helped teach the Wisconsin Master Naturalist course at Schlitz Audubon.

This program will take place indoors and outdoors.
