Join us in our inaugural mussel monitoring survey in the Milwaukee River! We will start at the Center to learn about the ecology and identification of mussel species found within Wisconsin rivers and how to monitor their populations. We will then travel to our Cleaver Property, a 40-acre area along the eastern bank of the Milwaukee River. There we will conduct a survey within the river through the Wisconsin Mussel Monitoring Program. After our survey, we will participate in an Adopt-A-River clean-up to create a healthier habitat for wildlife. Waders and equipment for the survey will be provided. Wear clothing adequate for river wading. Pack a lunch for an outdoor picnic. Adopt-A-River is a program of Milwaukee Riverkeeper.
This program is for adults and is free to all. Registration required.
