Join us for a training with Monarch Lab to help scientists in North America learn more about monarch distribution and abundance in North America. In this training, you will learn how to identify various milkweed plants, monarch eggs, and larval stages. Monitoring Monarch populations is important because their numbers have been in recent decline. During the summer of 2018, volunteers monitored Milkweed on a section of the Schlitz Audubon Property and collectively found 479 eggs and 74 caterpillars. For summer 2019, we would like to add more volunteers to our team to help increase our knowledge about local Monarchs’ lifestyle and survival in the wild.
