Join us for a presentation by Charles Hagner, author of The American Birding Association Field Guide to Birds of Wisconsin, the latest volume in the ABA’s popular series of state field guides. Charles Hagner’s new guide is based on the most recent official checklist of the state’s birds published by the Wisconsin Society for Ornithology, and it incorporates not only the latest sightings submitted to eBird but also the results of the just-completed second statewide Wisconsin Breeding Bird Atlas. This program is presented with Boswell Book Company.
Charles Hagner is the state director of Bird City Wisconsin, the board chair of the Western Great Lakes Bird and Bat Observatory, and a member of the Steering Committee of the Wisconsin Bird Conservation Initiative. From 2001 to 2017, he was the editor-in-chief of nationally distributed BirdWatching magazine, which he joined after a successful 13-year career as a writer and editor with Time Life Books.
He is the author of two previous books about birds — Guide to Ducks and Geese and Wings of Spring: Courtship, Nesting, and Fledging — is an editor of several natural history books, and a frequent speaker at meetings and festivals.
