Aldo Leopold is considered the father of wildlife ecology and we celebrate his contributions to nature during the first weekend of March. To honor his memory, at the start of the program we will meet on the East Veranda, surrounded by the log pillars that were donated to Schlitz Audubon from his property in Baraboo, WI. Center Naturalist, Cassie Rincon, will read excerpts from his book “A Sand County Almanac.” Feel free to bring your own copy or purchase one from the Nature Store to follow along. After listening and being inspired from his work, join in a group hike around the property.
This program will take place entirely outdoors. We will practice social distancing when we are able to, but because of the nature of small-group programming, it will not always be possible. For the health and safety of all, participants must wear a mask when you are within six feet of others. Please do not attend if you are sick or believe you have been exposed to the virus.
