Cedarburg Bog Field Trip
Saturday, October 30, 2021 | 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
$45.00 – $60.00Adults, Field Trips, Guided Hikes
The Cedarburg Bog State Natural Area is one of the largest and most diverse wetlands in Southern Wisconsin, supporting an array of unusual plants and animals. Cedar-Tamarack and hardwood swamps, deep and shallow marshes, several bog lakes, and a patterned peatland or “string bog” make this area unique.
Led by Senior Ecologist Don Quintenz, we will enter the heart of this vast northern wetland using an extensive system of boardwalks. In the afternoon, we will explore the Field Station’s woods, one of the finest mature beech-maple forests remaining in southeastern Wisconsin.
The field trip begins and ends at the Cedarburg Bog. In order to maintain social distancing, you will need to provide your own transportation to and from Cedarburg Bog. Please bring your own lunch and water. Further details and directions will be emailed to registered participants prior to the trip.
This program will take place outdoors. Please read our current mask policy before participation.
Members: $45 | Non-members: $60
