Join a welcoming community of bird enthusiasts on the second Wednesday of the month. New and experienced birders will meet to learn together, discuss bird-related issues, and hike to discover birds on the property. Our co-host is Dan Panetti, owner of Wild Birds Unlimited in Mequon.

Join us for a presentation by American Bird Conservancy’s Dr. Bryan Lenz to discuss the scale of the window collision problem, how birds see the world, the science behind collisions solutions, and what you can do to keep your windows from killing birds.

A birder since his early teens, Bryan Lenz was awarded an M.A. and Ph.D. in Physical (Biological) Anthropology from Tulane University. He bird-watched his way through primatology field work in Belize, Brazil, Costa Rica, and Peru before making the switch from monkeys to birds. Bryan joined ABC in 2018 after four years as both Director of community conservation program Bird City Wisconsin as well as Chief Scientist at Western Great Lakes Bird & Bat Observatory. As Glass Collision Program Manager, Bryan follows ABC’s holistic approach to preventing collisions.

Birders age 14 and up and of all skill levels are welcome. We will meet in the Auditorium of the Visitor Center.

Free to all. Optional donation supports habitat preservation at the Center. Registration required.
