Becoming a Backyard Birder

Saturday, February 6, 2021 | 9:30 am - 11:00 am

$20 – $25
Raptors, Birds, Guided Hikes, Adults

As the Great Backyard Bird Count fast approaches, there’s never been a better time to get into birding! Join Ian Dorney and Corinne Palmer to prepare yourself for this global citizen science extravaganza. Participants will experience a hands-on introduction to backyard birding, meet some of our resident birds of prey, and then walk our beautiful trails to collect local ornithological data that we will share with scientists worldwide.

This program will take place entirely outdoors. We will practice social distancing when we are able to, but because of the nature of small-group programming, it will not always be possible. For the health and safety of all, participants must wear a mask when you are within six feet of others. Please do not attend if you are sick or believe you have been exposed to the virus. See our latest COVID-19 updates here.

Members: $20 | Non-members: $25
