Sand has been used to bury treasure for centuries! The beach at Schlitz Audubon is like one big buried treasure chest. Thanks to Lake Michigan, new treasures wash up daily. We will comb, sift, and DIG in the sand to uncover beach treasures brought in by the waves. Campers will discover natural objects such as rocks, fossils, feathers, and bones and human made objects like bricks, concrete, and maybe even beach glass!
