Astronomy: The Sun

Monday, March 8, 2021 | 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

$15 – $20
Sold out
Adults

The Sun is a remarkably stable star, providing energy to power life on our planet for billions of years. What are the processes that produce this energy, and how did they come to be?  With solar activity on the increase, it’s a good time to talk about what effect this will have on our planet and the technology we take for granted in our everyday lives. If the sky is clear, Jim Hahn will lead us in stargazing after the presentation. Dress warmly and bring binoculars if you have them.

This program will take place entirely outdoors. We will practice social distancing when we are able to, but because of the nature of small-group programming, it will not always be possible. For the health and safety of all, participants must wear a mask when you are within six feet of others. Please do not attend if you are sick or believe you have been exposed to the virus. See our latest COVID-19 updates here.

Members: $15 | Non-Members: $20
